Casey is our team leader and the company’s “backbone”. His 30+ years of custom home building experience have earned Malmquist Construction the reputation of a progressive and extremely talented General contractor. Casey’s generosity and commitment to the community expresses his character as a genuine person. Casey and his wife live in Whitefish with dogs, horses and his grown kids nearby. When he is not working he is enjoying the many outdoor amenities that the Flathead Valley has to offer.

Bear has been enjoying his role as project manager for Malmquist Construction since 2003. Bear settled with his family in Whitefish, after building for Samaritan’s Purse in Afghanistan. Bears’ building experience spans from Europe to various parts of the United States. After extensive research of great places to live and work, Bear and his wife chose Whitefish for its incredible quality of life. Bear is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys recreating with his wife and son.
“When I moved to Whitefish I worked for a series of local builders for three months at no charge to learn about the various teams in the area. I ended up choosing to work for Malmquist because of the team process and the products we deliver…I felt like they were doing things right. We are highly productive, and at the same time, we have a lot of fun together. We bring a lot of passion to what we do. ”
Tyler is an integral team member, bringing many years of experience in both the residential and commercial construction industry. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Tyler and his wife moved back to Whitefish to start their careers and family. Tyler’s passion for home building came when he and his father built their first house together on Whitefish Lake Golf Course in 1996. Tyler has family roots in Whitefish that date back to the 1930’s. Whitefish is the perfect place for Tyler and his family to call home as they enjoy the numerous outdoors activities that are available here

Janene is a Havre Montana native who has been the Office manager for Malmquist construction since 1996. Janene is the operating force who makes our office run. She is responsible for all of our accounting and financial systems, plus a number of other important functions and responsibilities. After working for an electrical contractor in Spokane for several years, she moved back to Whitefish to raise her children. She enjoys spending time skiing with her daughter, and is very proud of her son who serves in the U.S. Army.

Wilson came to Malmquist Construction with a very assorted background in the construction industry. His hands on experience of building homes from beginning to end provides him with a solid knowledge base to perform at the highest level. Wilson comes from Augusta, MT where he and his father built homes before Wilson met his wife and started a family. Wilson has now settled down in the Flathead Valley with his wife and two boys. The Flathead Valley is perfectly suited for Wilson and his family as they take full advantage of all the incredible outdoor activities Montana provides.
“When we decided to move here, I knew I wanted to continue in the building industry. It is a field that I had a lot of experience in and I really enjoy challenges it offers. Shortly after I moved here I met the MC team and saw their various projects. I was drawn to the company because of their enthusiasm for building, the quality of the projects and their humble approach. I enjoy being part of the team and look forward to future.”
Paul brings a whole new element to the Malmquist Construction team. Paul has a master’s degree in Structural Engineering from Auburn University. With his Engineering background, he can provide another perspective to our quality control process. His work ethic and attention to detail gracefully embraces what Malmquist construction stands for. Paul is originally from Alabama and now resides in the Flathead Valley with his wife.
“My wife and I visited Montana on our honeymoon in 2011 and fell in love with the area. We moved to Montana in 2012 and have enjoyed exploring all that Montana has to offer. After working as a structural engineer for 3 years, I decided to get back to my true passion of buildings custom homes. I feel very fortunate to be a part of a team that cares about their work and takes great pride in what they do.”
Matt “Boon” Schmieder
Boon comes to Malmquist Construction with a degree in Construction Management and 13 years of experience in the construction industry. His career started with building high end residential homes and more recently large commercial projects in the Seattle area. Boon has worked with teams to build products such as rustic cabins, residential homes, high-rise concrete buildings, maintenance facilities and high security military offices. boon has recently settled in Whitefish and enjoys the countless recreational opportunities the area has to offer. In his free time you will find Boon with is pup floating the river, biking the local trials or skiing big mountain.
